Unfazed by Adversity, Driven by Innovation: The China Stationery Association’s Specialized Committee on Fountain Pens, Markers, and Inks Holds Meeting in Tongli, Suzhou

On November 21, 2020, the Specialized Committee on Fountain Pens, Markers, and Inks of the China Stationery Association jointly convened an exchange seminar titled “Staying Steadfast in Adversity, Driving Development through Innovation” at the Boyueting Hotel in Tongli, Suzhou.

Wang Shuqin, Chairperson of the China Stationery Manufacturers Association, and Ren Xiuying, Secretary-General of the Association, attended the meeting. Also in attendance were more than 50 representatives, including the chairpersons and vice-chairpersons of the three specialized committees, their executive vice-chairpersons, committee members, advisors, and specially invited delegates.

The meetings were chaired by Wang Baohe, Chairman of the Fountain Pen Professional Committee, and Huang Qiang, Chairman of the Ink Professional Committee. Jin Guiying, Chairwoman of Suzhou Xiongying Pen & Ink New Materials Co., Ltd., delivered the welcome address and provided an overview of the company’s development history and its achievements in scientific and technological innovation.

Wang Shuqin, Chairperson of the China Stationery Manufacturers Association, delivered an important address: she fully commended the successful conclusion of the exchange seminar meticulously organized by the three specialized committees, noting that the event was well-themed, well-planned, well-organized, well-executed in format, highly effective, and provided excellent service. She also briefed the attendees on the economic performance of the national light-industry sector and the stationery manufacturing industry from January to September 2020. She expressed the hope that each specialized committee would tailor its work more effectively and precisely to the specific characteristics of the industry’s development, and urged stationery manufacturers to earnestly implement the spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee, squarely face challenges, maintain strong confidence, clearly define their market positioning, and strive for continuous improvement. Furthermore, she emphasized the need to align corporate development with the national strategy of fostering a dual-circulation economy, and outlined key issues requiring attention as well as eight priority areas for action from the perspective of industry-wide development.

The “Facing Adversity Without Hesitation, Driving Development Through Innovation” exchange seminar reached a consensus: In the face of a complex and ever-changing economic landscape, the vast majority of pen-manufacturing enterprises must remain steadfast in their commitment to industry development, uphold the spirit of craftsmanship, persist in technological innovation, stay firmly rooted in the real economy, and seize opportunities to pursue growth.
